Welcome to this FREE video training series featuring professional skateboarder, Paul Rodriguez (aka. P-Rod)!

In this series there are 5 videos …plus one. These videos have been cut and edited from a live webcast video Paul put on for his fans. Most of the questions were lame (IMO) but there were a few really good ones. Those are the ones I’ve included for this video series.

These videos are really short and to the point. So as soon as you’re done watching these videos, go outside and practice these techniques. This will encode the learning into your brain and make you a better skateboarder.

The purpose of these videos is to give you a better insight into what goes on in the mind of a successful professional skateboarder so that you can perform like one too. Watch these videos, use what you learn, and watch yourself progressing your skateboarding skills to the next level …like a prodigy, son!

The first video in this series is about overcoming fear and gaining confidence to land more tricks.

It’s good to have some fear. Without it you would be reckless and get hurt.

The only thing you should be thinking about is “HOW am I going to land this trick?”. Asking “how can I” questions gives you much better answers than asking “why can’t I” questions. Watch your thoughts. Think positive.

Think about how the trick is going to feel, how the board will flip or spin, and how you’re going to catch it. Visualize it in as much detail as possible.

Don’t worry about failing. Worrying leads to more worry. Focus on landing your trick. Focus only on what you want to happen.

Don’t skate anything above skill level. Start small,  get better, and work your way up to build your confidence. Listen to your intuition. Ask yourself “Am I ready for this?” If so, you’ll know. Prepare yourself beforehand. The more prepared you are the better your chances are of succeeding.

The 2nd video in this series is understanding the mindset of a professional skateboard.

This video adds to what was said in the first video. It’s really important that you understand this.

To land any trick you want, visualize what the trick is going to feel like, look like, and how you want to grind, slide, flip or spin. See this happening in first person, as if you were actually doing it …perfectly. Feel how you would feel as if you just landed it and bring that energy to your next attempt. Don’t be surprised when you start landing a bunch of new tricks all of a sudden :-)

When it’s time to do the trick for real, be in the moment, focused on landing your trick and rolling away.

This technique is one of the biggest secrets professional skateboarders know and know you know it too. Imagine what you can achieve with this. The possibilities are endless.

The 3rd video in this series covers transitioning from poser to pro.

Want to become a professional skater? It can happen. Dream and focus on your dream as often as you can. See all the benefits you would have and expect more responsibilities, because with great power comes great responsibility.

The best strategy for brining more good things into your life is to be grateful for what you have right now. There’s always something to be grateful for. For example, if you have a skateboard don’t take it for granted, BE GRATEFUL. That piece of wood can bring so much joy into your life.

Beware of negative people and jealous friends on your journey to go pro. They will try to sabotage your efforts and crush your dream. Make sure you surround yourself with the right kind of people …people who want to see you succeed.

The 4th video in this series is about staying motivated when learning tricks.

Don’t give up at the first sign of trouble. Stay determined. See yourself doing your trick and feel yourself doing. Keep that vision and feeling of what you want the trick to look like and feel like.

You might not land your trick right away. It may not be today, it could be a week or month from now. Stay at it. Everyday keep trying that trick and working on it until you corner it. It’s just a matter of time. You can land any trick, it just depends on how long you’re willing to work for it, how badly you want it. Keep in mind, each try is one try closer to the land.

Keep the trick in mind. Practice doing it over and over in your head. Believe that one way or another you’re going to get there. Be patient and let it happen when your ready for it to happen.

The 5th video in this series is “what does skateboarding means to you?”

Paul’s responded with satisfaction, discipline, happiness, anger, pain, and the best feeling ever. You can tell that he puts his heart and soul into skateboarding because he loves it. You have to love what you do to be successful.

My question to you is, “what does skateboarding mean to you?”. Really think about it. Because if you’re in skateboarding for the wrong reasons skateboarding won’t be as fun for you as it is for other skaters. Have fun and enjoy skateboarding!

This is the end of this videos series. Take what you’ve learned here, apply it to your skateboarding and you will begin to see visible progress with your skateboarding abilities. Some of this stuff might seem weird, but it’s like they say…

“If you do what successful people do than you have a 100% chance of success.”

P.S. I’ve included one more video below. This video is about Plan B ‘P2′ skateboard decks and what’s so great about them.

Recently PlanB created these ‘P2′ decks that have more snap in the pop and last longer than ordinary decks. They boards are partially made from kevlar, which gives them “spring loaded pop”. It seems like everyone wants one but they don’t sell these in every skateshop …at least not around here. That’s why I bought mine online. If you’re looking to buy Plan B P2 decks, I’ve found a few sweet deals here: Plan B ‘P2′ Skateboard Decks
